Irksome thing...
I was at my younger sister's apartment playing D&D tonight. As if half of you didn't know that already.

Anyway, we didn't play too much D&D, just awarded loot and XP from the previous night, but we did watch a bit of this mindnumbingly bad unofficially official translation of an anime... translated to english from japanese via chinese, and I got to watch the later half of Beauty and the Beast(extended version), starting from Gaston's song.

Mostly, though, I spent time fiddling with my Eee PC.

And therein lies the irk.

When I forst got my Eee PC last week, a week ago today, I couldn't get it to configure properly on her WiFi. I figured it was some issue that I would have to get fixed. I had a similar issue setting it up on my comptuer, but I got it working. Today, I couldn't get it to work at my sister's apartment again... I tried usign the same configuration from my work laptop, which does work, but had no luck.

The most annoying part is that the wireless router my ssiter has is the same model of rireless router we have at home, which my Eee PC conects to fine.

I'm sure I'll find something to make it work eventually, but I guess I'll have to put up with dual boxing when I play D&D on thursdays for a while. :P

I've also started customiving my Eee PC using tips from a 'fan' website, enabling the start menue on the default icewm window manager, and I'll probably turn off the easy mode interface that Asus has running on top of that.

I'm also looking at some software for doing GPS stuff; one of tehd evices that's been confirmed to work with the Eee PC is a model of GPS that we use at work; we have lots of this GPS, and if I can get that and some map software to work on it, and get this one java based program to work (probably not, it's very touchy about hardware, and uses it's own drivers, and is proprietary to one of our clients, licvensed only for sue testing their network), I could use my new laptop for work, maybe get partially reimbursed. :)
